The senior-most judge of the Karnataka High Court, Justice Jayant Patel reportedly confirmed that his resignation was due to not being made the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court and also about his transfer to to Allahabad High Court. He is understood to have told the lawyers that his “uprightness” had been perceived in a negative manner by decision makers in the executive and judiciary.
