A petition was filed in the Madras High Court by Arappor Iyakkam, an organisation who was denied permission to conduct a public meeting against the corruption of the State on the order of an Assistant Commissioner of Police. HC held that someone’s Fundamental right of holding public meeting can’t be denied merely on the apprehension of a law and order situation arising.
