
The Delhi high Court has contempted the practice of industries which do not provide their workers with minimum wages and stated that such industries have no right to continue. It was observed on hearing a petition challenging an order passed in July, 2004 by the Labor Court, wherein the Central Secretariat Club was directed to pay a workman, Mr. Geetam Singh, for a period of three years as he had claimed that he was being paid below than what he was authorized to under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
