The Madras High Court has rejected the plea filed by A Ashvathaman against Vijay starrer movie Mersal, stating that some of the scenes in the movie depicted wrong facts with reference to operation of GST in India. According to him a movie being a powerful medium shall carry away a wrong message amongst the people and that would insult the sovereignty of the country. HC stated that portrayal in the movie is nothing more than an expression and it is for movie-goers to look it in their own perspective.
