Delay In Seeking Compensation For Land Acquisition Can Be Condoned In Appropriate Cases: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court while hearing appeals seeking compensation at par with that granted to others involved in the same notification under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, which was earlier dismissed on the basis of delay, rejected the order and sent the matter back to the Collector for re-determination of compensation in view of its observations. It also stated that detain in seeking compensation from land acquisition authorities can be condoned in appropriate cases.
