Mere Physical Contact Without Sexual Nature Would Not Amount To Sexual Harassment At Workplace: Delhi HC

The Delhi High Court stated that a mere physical contact whether welcomed or not but without any sexual nature cannot be termed as sexual harassment. This statement was issued while hearing an appeal challenging the decision by the Complaint Committee as well as the Disciplinary Authority regarding an employee of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research accused of sexual harassment. HC chose to upheld the decision announced by the Committee and dismissed the appeal.
