SC Notice To Aviation Ministry, Air India On Plea By A Transgender Seeking Cabin Crew Job

The Supreme Court has generated a notice to the Civil Aviation Ministry and Air India on a petition filed by a transgender Shanavi Ponnuswamy pursuing a way to the national bearer to designate her as a cabin crew member. Ponnuswamy is an engineer and underwent a sex change operation. She has worked with worked with Sutherland and Air India Customer Support in the past. She has mentioned the NALSA judgement of April 2014, which has acknowledged the rights of transgender as a third gender, to strengteh her case.
