Gujarat HC Grants Relief To Makers Of Padmavati, Ball Now In CBFC’s Court

The Gujarat High Court has refused the petition filed by Rajendra Singh Shekhavat, requesting a stay on the release of film Padmavati. According to Shekhavat, the film misinterprets historical facts hurting the emotions of the Rajput community. Sanjay Leela Bhansali disagreed saying that the petition was premature since the film has not even been submitted before the Central Board of Film Certification. After hearing both the parties HC decided that subject matter is within the domain of CBFC and they shall examine the film.
